Events which celebrate and encourage books and reading for children always excite me. I was fortunate that my May Gibbs Fellowship in Adelaide coincided with a Free Family Fun Day at Storybook Walk at Thalassa Park. I met many South Australian authors and illustrators and loved viewing the many sculptures based on children’s books, including those written by Kelly Hibbert, Janeen Brian, May Gibbs, and Norman Lindsay.
