What a special picture book! A Wish for Baby by Caz Goodwin, illustrated by Sara Acton is now on the list of picture books that made me cry. This book perfectly captures the huge LOVE a parent has for a child and how the wonder of that love is expressed in everyday ways. My favourite combination of the poignancy of domestic life with a baby. The illustrations and text work together to create a heartwarming and delightful book to be read over and over.

The pairing of the text and dynamic, sensitive illustrations is faultless and deftly edited throughout. The final double spread is wordless, depicting the cycle of life.
